Rabin Chowdhury
Rabin Chowdhury is a classical vocal artist from Bangladesh in the khayal and light classical genres like Tumri, Dadra and other types of music also. After completing the six years curriculum of Sur Saptak Sangeet Vidyapit at Chattogram, Bangladesh with First Class, he came to study under Pandit Swarnamoy Chakraborty, Pandit Tushar Dutta, (the Kirana and Agra Gharana) and a great maestro Sangeetacharya Pandit Amiyaranjan Bondapadyay (Bishnupur Gharana), and continues with Pandit Amiya Ranjan Bandopadhyay, a pioneer of Bishnupur Gharana.
He is also founder and artistic director of Madhubanti Sangeet Kala Kendra, Bangladesh, an organization promoting classical music in Bangladesh.
He is performing regularly on radio and TV programs in Bangladesh, has recorded songs broadcasted by Surtarang Radio in the UK , and on All India Radio in India . His performances include prestigious classical music concerts as the Ramkrishna Mission Institute of culture at Kolkata & India Habitat centre at New Delhi in India, Indira Gandhi cultural centre, Indian high commission and Alliance Francaise in Bangladesh and his contribution to classical music is also a scholar one, with webinars and research papers about eastern classical music.
