Mimi is an Advanced Certified teacher based out of the Jivamukti Yoga Center in NYC. She has been teaching yoga for over a decade and is a mentor to local and visiting international teachers – leading them through their 800 hour apprenticeship program.
Adopting a lighthearted, fun-loving approach, Mimi’s students leave happy and glowing from sweat. She artfully crafts a class that is accessible to students of all levels by relying on feedback from years of observing students’ energetic and physical responses to asanas. She has a gentle and soft approach, guiding practitioners to find a moment to pause and be present. Mimi’s relatable classes weave in wisdom from ancient and modern yoga philosophy sources such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, as well as inspirational real life stories. David Life and Sharon Gannon’s teachings form the core of her classes and philosophy; she has also traveled to India to study with Saraswathi, Sharath and Lakshmish.
She has been featured in Yoga Journal, Mantra Magazine, the Social Sutras, and various yoga magazines and blogs.
